Talya grew up in Southern California and graduated cum laude from California State University Northridge, where she majored in Political Science, with an emphasis on Law and Society. She then earned her JD from Southwestern Law School. During law school, Talya served as a Law Clerk for the District Attorney’s Habeas Corpus Litigation Division, Victim Impact Program, and the Hard Core Gangs Division, for which she became a Public Interest Law grant recipient. Simultaneously, Talya served as a Peer Mentor, Secretary and Chair of the Southwestern Law School Animal Legal Defense Fund, a certified Legal Advocate for the Children’s Rights Clinic, and received a Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Defenses in Criminal Law. Talya also served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Michael B. Harwin.
Prior to joining RLS, Talya worked at an employment law firm representing employees all over California in various employment related matters. Her experience includes representing employees throughout the litigation process in discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, FMLA/CFRA violations, Equal Pay Act violations, wage and hour violations, and other FEHA related violations. Talya is deeply committed to advocacy and service, both in and out of the courtroom. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and fostering animals for local rescue organizations.
Talya is licensed to practice in California State Courts and the US District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of California.
