This is an introductory course to collective bargaining, providing the participant with an overview of the collective bargaining process. This course will include legal analysis of laws related to collective bargaining including Meyers-Milias-Brown, analysis of positional and hard/soft bargaining as compared to interest-based bargaining, how to prepare for negotiations, basic contract costing, and defining what is good faith bargaining. Hands-on bargaining exercises, including contract costing, will help to prepare the participant for negotiations. This course is intensive and demanding. Participants should be prepared to put in additional hours to those identified below at the official website.
