Robert M. Wexler is a Principal at Rains Lucia Stern St. Phalle & Silver, PC (RLS), where he has built a distinguished career representing labor organizations and public safety professionals throughout California.
With more than 30 years of experience, Rob advises labor associations and their members on a broad range of employment and labor law matters, including collective bargaining, grievance and disciplinary proceedings, bargaining unit certifications, wage and hour claims, disability rights, and pension and retirement issues. He has served as trusted counsel to numerous labor organizations, including some of California’s largest municipal police and firefighter associations.
Rob has extensive experience defending public employees in disciplinary and criminal proceedings and has represented more than 400 law enforcement officers involved in both on-duty and off-duty shootings. In recognition of his legal excellence, he was selected for inclusion in the Southern California Super Lawyers list in 2011.
A highly sought-after speaker and author, Rob regularly presents on collective bargaining, the rights of public safety employees during disciplinary investigations, free speech, and privacy rights. He has been a featured speaker for leading organizations, including the Police Officers’ Research Association of California (PORAC), Labor Relations Information System (LRIS), Southern California Internal Affairs Investigators’ Association, California Public Employment Labor Relations Association (CALPELRA), National Public Employment Labor Relations Association (NPELRA), International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR), and California Professional Firefighters (CPF).
Rob’s legal articles have been published in PORAC News, In Pursuit Of, The Rap Sheet, and The Hot Sheet. He has also appeared on KCAL, KTLA, FOX News, and KNX, and KFI News Radio.
Rob earned his law degree through the prestigious SCALE program at Southwestern University School of Law, where he received the Wildman Scholarship for Academic Excellence and was invited to join the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. He and his wife, Jennifer, are the proud parents of two daughters.
