Ramona Atanacio is a member of the Rains Lucia Stern St. Phalle & Silver, PC (“RLS”) Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation Groups. She represents persons who have suffered serious injury as a result of automobile accidents, defective products, dangerous premises, negligence, and intentional torts. Prior to joining RLS, Ramona spent several years at a personal injury law firm working on catastrophic personal injury cases and toxic torts.
Ramona was previously a fellow for the Center for Gender & Refugee Studies, assisting in its policy and advocacy efforts toward advancement of various gender-sensitive asylum laws. Ramona also worked for the Institute of Justice and Democracy in Haiti on its impact litigation and Haiti Asylum Information Project.
Ramona earned her J.D. with a concentration in public interest from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. During law school, she worked on behalf of indigent defendants for the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office and for the Los Angeles Public Defender’s Office. Ramona also served as an extern for the Honorable Judge Wilken and the Honorable Judge Armstrong of the U.S. Northern District of California. Ramona earned her B.A. in political science from University of California, Berkeley.
Ramona is passionate about her practice and teaching in both pilates and yoga. She is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and teaches at Adeline Yoga Studio in Berkeley. Ramona currently serves on the Board for the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States, and previously served as Vice President of the Board for the Iyengar Institute of San Francisco and Iyengar Yoga Association of Northern California.
