Robert “Bob” McFarlane is an investigator with Rains Lucia Stern St. Phalle & Silver, PC (“RLS”) specializing in complex matters including serious criminal cases, high-profile disciplinary actions and forensic video analysis. In addition to twelve years of law enforcement experience, Bob earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice Management and is a LEVA-trained forensic video technician (Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Video Associations).
Bob brings a great deal of investigative experience to RLS from his twelve years of experience as an Oakland police officer. His assignments included patrol, street narcotics enforcement, vice narcotics and the beat health unit which combated neighborhood blight by orchestrating civil actions against drug houses. Bob served eight years in the United States Air Force as a security specialist. During his time in the military, Bob had a number of missions overseas. Bob is also part of the adjunct teaching faculty for the Administration of Justice Program at Napa Valley College and is a member of the International Association for Identification. Immediately prior to joining RLS, Bob worked in high tech and in real estate appraisal.
