Prior to joining RLS, Matthew worked for years as a criminal prosecutor; first, as a Volunteer Deputy City Attorney in Van Nuys, then as a Deputy District Attorney in Stanislaus County and, most recently, as a Deputy District Attorney in Kern County. Matthew has prosecuted a wide variety of crimes, including violent crimes against peace officers. Matthew has extensive criminal litigation experience, including jury trials, preliminary hearings, and motions.
Matthew received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University Northridge. He went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, earning a certificate in Criminal Litigation. While at Chicago-Kent, Matthew served as a law clerk for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.
Matthew is licensed to practice in all California State courts.
