Talbot will be speaking during the 2019 CalGovHR Conference & Expo™ during a presentation on the vested rights doctrine, the "California Rule", and various cases that may impact the future of public sector pension in California. Specifically, Mr. Talbot argued the case of Alameda County Deputy Sheriffs Association v. Alameda County Employees Retirement Association before the California Court of Appeal on behalf of all petitioning public employee labor organizations and employees from Alameda, Contra Costa and Merced counties, and the California Supreme Court subsequently granted review of the Alameda case on March 28, 2018.
