Rains Lucia Stern is extremely pleased to announce that senior associate Justin Buffington has been elevated to the position of partner. Justin has been with the firm since 2008 as a member of the firm’s Legal Defense Group. During his tenure Justin has distinguished himself with a remarkable number of victories in complex and high-profile cases. His tenacity and in-depth understanding of the law as it relates to peace officers have been his hallmarks. He is also a client favorite due to his engaging and down-to-earth personality.
Prior to joining Rains Lucia Stern, Justin was a Deputy District Attorney with the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office. He is from a legal family: his father was the elected DA and a Superior Court Judge in Humboldt County.
Justin will remain in the Legal Defense Group where he will continue to handle serious cases and help oversee the Group’s operations.
