Curtis Wheaton is an associate in the Rains Lucia Stern St. Phalle & Silver, PC (“RLS”) Workers’ Compensation Group. He specializes in representing California’s injured public safety officers as well as both private and public sector union employees.
Prior to joining RLS, Curtis worked for one of California’s oldest and largest workers’ compensation defense firms, specializing in serving public entity clients including counties, cities, school districts and utilities districts. He defended a variety of other complex issues, including professional athlete cases and catastrophic injury claims. Curtis also served as outside counsel for the Industrial Disability Retirement Committee at one of the bay area’s largest municipalities.
Curtis earned his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law, where he was a member of the Dean’s List and an Articles Editor on the Santa Clara Law Review. While in law school he worked for a boutique employment law firm and later in-house for a large technology company. Curtis earned his B.S. in political science and German from Santa Clara University.
Curtis lives in San Francisco with his wife, Arria.
