Plaintiff J.K. was working on a hotel construction project when a pressurized concrete hose malfunctioned and separated violently. The explosive separation caused the hose to flail about randomly, eventually whipping into J.K.’s left knee and lower extremities. J.K. landed on the metal deck, also twisting his right knee. As a result of the incident, J.K. required several knee surgeries.
