Plaintiff C.C. was rear-ended by Defendant Lauren Hanford while making a right turn into a parking lot, resulting in a lawsuit by C.C for motor vehicle negligence.
While defendant Hanford admitted liability, she contested C.C.’s damages, claiming that C.C. only suffered minimal, soft-tissue injury due to the low-speed of the impact.
C.C. contended that the collision caused an asymptomatic, pre-existing condition to become symptomatic.
At trial, the jury awarded C.C. $690,927.37. Motions continued after trial, and C.C. eventually won a settlement for $850,000.
