Andre Smith is an associate attorney in the Rains Lucia Stern St. Phalle & Silver, PC (“RLS”) Workers’ Compensation Practice Group. Andre represents peace officers, fire service members, and private sector employees in the navigation and litigation of their workers’ compensation claims. Prior to joining RLS, Andre represented employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators in various facets of workers’ compensation defense.

Andre earned his bachelor degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1997. Andre earned his Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2020. He thereafter worked for one of the largest workers’ compensation defense firms in California. Andre’s experience as a defense attorney, particularly representing cities and counties, impressed upon him an appreciation for the perils and experiences that our peace officers, fire service members, and other first responders willingly endure. He thus resolved to direct his efforts and passion for providing effective and assertive advocacy toward the plights of injured workers.

When not at work, Andre enjoys the outdoors with his family. If he is not climbing Mt. Diablo on his road bike, deep sea fishing in the pacific, or in the woods hunting, he is most likely grilling or smoking up a feast for his loved ones.

Andre is licensed to practice in all California state courts.
