Mar. 30, 2017 – ICI Officer-Involved Shooting and Force Investigations Course (Seaside, CA)

RLS’s Michael L. Rains will be teaching during the March 30th session of the ICI’s five-day course on Officer-involved shooting and force investigations.

Purpose

This scenario-based course is designed for experienced detectives assigned to investigate law enforcement involved critical incidents including OIS, force incidents, and in-custody deaths.

Topics

The course will cover topics including understanding stakeholders, lawful and unlawful force, physiological and psychological changes (human factors), administrative and criminal investigations, legal considerations and courtroom testimony, crime scene reconstruction, video forensics, taser incidents, excited delirium-related deaths and contemporary critical incident case studies.
