Russell J. Giuntini is of counsel to the firm representing public safety officers in administrative and disciplinary matters.

Russ has worked with law enforcement for 32 plus years in various capacities while a member of the Alameda and San Francisco County District Attorney’s Offices. As a line prosecutor in Alameda County he prosecuted serious felonies in both state and federal court before becoming the Assistant District Attorney in charge of the Oakland office of the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office. He successfully prosecuted members of the Black Guerilla Family prison gang, obtained the third murder conviction in the state for a drunken driving homicide and successfully prosecuted some of Oakland’s most notorious drug dealers in state and federal court.

In January, 2004, he left Alameda County to become Chief Assistant District Attorney under District Attorney Kamala D. Harris and was credited with implementing strategies that dramatically improved San Francisco’s conviction and state prison commitment rates. In addition, he worked with the San Francisco Police Officers Association to set up a case review committee to review all cases involving assaults upon police officers in order to insure the officers had a voice in the resolution of those cases.

Russ graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and earned his law degree at San Francisco Law School.
