Kathy Rains serves as of counsel to the firm and works primarily with the Legal Defense of Peace Officers Practice Group.

Kathy brings to her practice 10 years of law enforcement experience with Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department and the Brentwood Police Department. Prior to law school Kathy represented peace officers as a non-attorney labor representative.

Kathy is a graduate of Saint Mary's College with a degree in Business Management) and John F. Kennedy School of Law. She is a member of the California State Bar, Contra Costa County Bar Association and RPORAC.
