The law firm of Rains, Lucia & Wilkinson LLP was formed in May 1999 to emphasize the representation of public safety employees in the State of California in a wide variety of matters including contract negotiations, labor grievances and litigation, disciplinary representation, civil and criminal representation, personal injury work, and estate planning.

Since we opened our doors, our firm has continued to grow, both in terms of staffing and in terms of the number of clients we represent. We have been and continue to be honored that law enforcement associations from Central California to the Oregon border call upon us on a regular basis to do a wide variety of work for their members.

Effective February 1, 2008, our long-time partner, Alison Wilkinson will become "of counsel" to the firm. Alison is moving to that position in an effort to balance the demands of her already active practice and her family. As a result, she will be working primarily out of her San Rafael office, although she can still be reached through the Pleasant Hill office.

Existing clients of the firm will see no change in how they are represented. As always, if an individual desires to have Alison, or any other attorney handle a particular case, he/she simply needs to let us know when contacting our office, or let representatives of PORAC Legal Defense Fund know when contacting them to open a new LDF case.

While all of us in the Pleasant Hill office will miss seeing Alison on a daily basis, we are pleased that she will be able to devote more time to her family. That being said, rest assured that although Alison's title will be changing, she will continue to be our friend, colleague, and an active member of the "Ultimate Backup."

In keeping with Alison's change of status, the name of the firm is being changed to Rains Lucia Stern, PC. As you know, Harry has been a partner for many years without his name on the masthead. As we transition to this new operation, we are pleased to formally recognize his strong reputation as a lawyer for public safety employees as well as his continuing contributions to the firm and its clients.
